Cachous are small scented tablets for sweetening the breath. They first appear to have come on the scene in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. The clear glass bottle contains silver spherical tablets. The front of the bottle features a colourful label with 2 parrots to each side of the title. The registered trademark is the shield at the top of the label. The cap is metallic and printed in various colours. It is marked with MA Craven & Son Ltd with the shield, which was the registered trade mark, with 'York England' at its edge.
On the back of the bottom of the bottle is a label stating that 'The charge for the bottle is 4d., which amount will be credited when the bottle is returned. Bottles without this label will be credited at the price charged when sent out.'
