The white wedding shoes were worn by Mary Jane Sykes when she married Scott Oldfield on 14 January 1907. They were donated by her daughter. There is a note describing the provenance and a copy of the Marriage Certificate and Baptism Certificate. Please note that the wedding dress worn with the shoes can be found in the Garment Collection GOLCV 180/2012.
The shoes are white leather with a bar and a leather covered button to fasten. The shoes are decorated at the front with a satin bow made of ribbon with a trim along both edges. The shoes are size 6 and were made in Austria. They cost 4 shillings.
