Our Baking team was creating delicious smells and tasty parkin.  Parkin is a type of ginger cake made with oatmeal and black treacle which often improves if it is left to get moist. Many visitors chose some to take home.

Colne Valley Museum attended the Huddersfield & District Family History Society Fair on Sunday 14 October.  There were many visitors to the fair and they enjoyed learning about the museum and the history of the families that originally lived there.  Let's hope they visit the museum!

The museum celebrated many crafts including bread baking, lace making, rag rugging, embroidery, knitting and the making of Christmas decorations as well as our usual demonstrations of spinning, weaving and clog making.

During the weekend of 7/8 October, the museum held a Craft Weekend.  As well as the traditional crafts of spinning, weaving and clogging which are demonstrated most weekends, volunteers demonstrated various other crafts including lacemaking, knitting, making Christmas ornaments and bread baking.
