September 2023 - Colne Valley Museum

There were lots of visitors looking at the dyeing workshop and buying yarn. Debby and her volunteers showed visitors how to dye yarn naturally using the plants grown on the croft. Lovely colours were achieved using blackberries, sumac berries and onion skins.

Janet Jobber, our volunteer co-ordinator, was at the museum last weekend hoping to meet prospective volunteers. If you would like to help at the museum, and there are many and varied jobs to do, please email volunteers@colnevalleymuseum.org.uk.

There were a steady stream of visitors on our second Heritage Open Day weekend. They not only enjoyed visiting the museum but had the opportunity of taking a tour to see the well that originally served the cottages at Spring Rock.

Colne Valley Museum celebrated the first weekend of Heritage Open Days 2023 with a scone bake. The delicious scones were served with cream and jam in the tea room. Thanks to Pauline, Margaret and Deborah who baked on an extremely warm weekend so that all our visitors and volunteers could enjoy their delicious bakes.
