Stepping back In Time. Amazing display of footwear – including items from the collection of Shaw and Hallas, a long established local retailer.

Colne Valley Art Society Annual Exhibition A superb display of local talent, with many items for sale as well as the usual 'Bargain Corner.'
June 6th --August 2nd.
Discover Your Family History by Huddersfield and District Family History Society. Discover who lived at Cliffe Ash.

Marsden Past Part of the NEW exhibition of Marsden history by Marsden History Group with WEA.

Traditional Drinking 'Oils. An exhibition of paintings of ale houses past and present by well known local artist Tony Haigh.

The museum comes alive! Lots of traditional craft demonstrations throughout the day including bread-baking, rag-rugging, lace-making, spinning, weaving and clog-making--early opening at 12.30pm both days.

CORN DOLLIES!

The art of corn plaiting will be demonstrated to visitors along with an exhibition of corn dollies and other favours. Visitors wishing to learn this traditional craft will have the opportunity to have a go!

MEMORIES WEEKEND

Do you remember the All-Night Clog-In? Did you come to one of the Street Fairs? Were you in the Jubilee Parade? Members and visitors are invited to share their memories, funny stories etc of Colne Valley Museum with our archive team, perhaps prompted by some of our photograph collection of past events, with a view to publishing a book of 'forty years of memories', to celebrate the Museum's 40th birthday.
WORKING CRAFT WEEKEND

The museum comes alive! Many working crafts demonstrated including spinning, weaving, clog-making, lace-making, and bread-making in the Victorian kitchen. Open 12.30.
THE BIG KNIT!

Knitting workshops run throughout the weekend. Join in the Make the Museum a Muffler challenge! Booking not required.

Come and help Mrs. Sykes make her Christmas puddings (and buy one for yourself perhaps?) and her mincemeat.
Browse round for some early Christmas shopping--we have cards and giftwrap from Phoenix, handmade Deco chocolates, Nursery Arts and Crafts from Banana Ink and beautifully decorated wooden gifts, as well as old fashioned sweets and toys, craft kits and stocking fillers from our shop. Relax in our cafe with a coffee and home made mince pie afterwards.

Come in out of the cold and visit our traditional Christmas Fair with lots of fun and games for all the family, beautiful and unusual presents to buy and Father Christmas sitting by the fire! Golcar Ginnel Walks

The grand finale of the museum's birthday celebrations! A guided walk of part of the Ginnel Walk trail, finishing back at the museum with some birthday cake. No charge but booking (and sensible footwear) essential.
Rag Rug Day
